How to add a Digg This button in Blogger

I don't know who is the original author/creater of this Trick. But I found it on

For those who don't know what is Digg:
Digg is a website made for people to discover and share content from anywhere on the Internet, by submitting links and stories, and voting and commenting on submitted links and stories. Voting stories up is called digging. To Digg you must have a Digg account which is free to create. You can sign up for digg at http://digg.com

Now back to business. To digg, its always easier to have a Digg button in your blog posts. Isn't it?

IMPORTANT: You will need to register at digg.com so you can start digging stuff.

Blogger does not allow javascript in posts, and that's the only way Digg.com offers the button, so you'll have to add it to the template, which adds it to every post. If you don't want this, then this article will not help you.

1. 1st thing to do is Backup your template.Open your Blogger Dashboard>Layout>Edit HTML>Click Download Full Template.
2. Now Click "Expand Widget Template"
3. You will need to find this piece of code:

It is about half way down. (tip: you can search the page in firefox and explorer on the mac by typing "apple" "f" and on Windows by typing "ctrl" "f", then typing "data:post.body" and it should find it.


4. Just Before this line paste the following code:

</div>

Now, understand this...this code will add a button to all your posts with a "zero" diggs displaying until someone diggs it, and so, you can go and digg your stories first, or wait until one of your readers do it.

The Digg This button will be placed "align=right", top right corner of your post.
To change the alignment just edit this code

style='float:right;
